Walk The Talk : An Act of Benevolence

In this kind of society where people keep ignoring those people who are suffering, instead of helping them, all we can come up is “it sucks to be you”. Well, maybe some of us might ask why do we ignore other people’s problem? Why we should care when it doesn’t affect them? Are those questions reasonable to ask when someone need help? It is more regressing if we are the person in those situations, then all of a sudden we look around wondering why people around us keep walking instead of helping us. After all, we should be more concern and always be updated with the current issues such as Rohingya ethnicity in Myanmar, flood victims and how bad the suffering of people in Gaza, Palestine.

In order to create awareness among participants on why humanity is matter, a clear picture of humanity is needed. Humanity cannot be define by one word. Humanity means helping others at times when they need help the most, humanity means forgetting our selfish interest at times when others need our help. It is love. All that we need is being helpful to the needy at all times and every place. It is a choice either we want to help or not. Different people have different acts, and it is within our power as a human being to make.

Practicing humanitarian is just an action but our intentions are the one that really matter. It doesn’t count as helping if we help others with the intent of gaining fame, recognition or influences. Hence, look for ways to benefit others without placing an emphasis on what we may get in return. Therefore, in this talk slot we aim to ensure that participants can develop right intentions of giving and helping from their deepest hearts.

“We can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone” quoted by Ronal Reagan. Therefore, with a little help, we can make a difference. It’s not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. As our lives are like wheels, there will come one of those days, the person needing help is us, therefore we should always put ourselves in other’s shoes to feel how the reality of this world look like. The world is full of nice people, if you can’t find one, be the one.
